Trip to Arizona and Mexico

The end of June my parents and little sister came to visit us. We had a great time hanging out and then we went on a whirlwind trip through Arizona and down to Mexico.

We stopped at Canyon De Chelley which was beautiful but very hot. Is a really long canyon that has ancient cliff dwellings in the sides of the walls. My dad, Kaitie, and Anika made the brave hike down the side of the canyon to go see one of the dwelling. My mom and I hung out with the boys at the top.

We then made the drive down to Globe, AZ. My dad grew up there and it was fun to see all the places that he used to play and get into alot of trouble. We ate at one of his favorite restaurants, which was a lot spicier than I remember. I guess I lived in Montana to long.

We then drove to Tucson. We made the short trek to Nogalas and crossed the border. My sister wanted to say that she had been to Mexico. We spent the afternoon shopping the shops on the street and paying way to much for some junk. Anika did not know what to do when they kept trying to put stuff on her and convince Grandma to buy it. We finally had to tell her to cross her arms, which kind of worked.

The next day we drove up to Phoenix. We went to see the temple in Mesa. That is where I was sealed to my parents when I was little. We ate a little place called Pete's Fish and Chips. I remember eating there when I was little before the pageant. It is still really good. We then drove by the house that I grew up in until sixth grade.

The next day we drove to the Grand Canyon. It is always so beautiful, but it is a little nerve racking with kids. Luckily Aiden was afraid to get to close and Anika was old enough to understand. Poor Zander was not allowed to get out of the stroller, but even in it he was scareing me. He kept trying to lean way out through the railing. We then drove back to Blanding to spend the Fourth of July with Josh who got left home to work and study.

Cool! What a fun (and hot) trip! I don't think that I knew that you lived in Arizona before Montana. That must have been an adjustment in the winter:) Glad to see you and hear that you had a great time. Poor Josh and other husbands that stay home and work. Don't we love them!~
