We did the traditional thing and carved pumpkins for FHE on Monday. I was surprised this year that Aiden really was excited to clean out the pumpkin. Last year he wanted nothing to do with that nasty stuff in side. Although, Zander touched it once and then spent the rest of the night "washing his hands" in the sink. Anika did her entire pumpkin herself this year. I think she did a pretty good job.
We had a blast for Halloween. I love that we live in a small town and can go real trick or treating without much risk. The only down side is that the houses are really far apart so we did not hit that many houses before the kids were exhuasted. Zander had wanted to be a monkey this year but in my one trip up to Salt Lake to go shopping I was not able to find one. So he was stuck being the hand me down frog. Grandma Pellinen sent the other two customes that she had bought last year. Anika was a Bratz pirate. She looked adorable. Aiden, however, had been playing with his and had put it somewhere in the house. We looked for hours to try to find it with no luck. So he ended up just wearing his play cape and being batman. He was sad that he did not get to be Mr. Incredible. On the bright side, we did find the costume three days after Halloween. It was in a box in the top shelf in our garage. I have NO idea how it got there. He has been enjoying wearing it ever since then.
